Karaka Branch with Kererū wall decal room visualisation – smaller artwork in a neutral room

The design

Two kererū among the karaka

Glossy green leaves and orange fruit surround two perched kererū. The rounded bird shapes and branching foliage make a colourful focal point for a living area, entrance or shared interior.

Size and placement

Leave room for both birds

Use the complete branch dimensions when planning your wall. Keep the outer foliage clear of nearby furniture so both kererū and the orange fruit remain part of the scene.

Dimensions are approximate. Metres are used from 1 m upward, and centimetres below 1 m. Measure your available wall space before choosing.

Available artwork dimensions

  • 60 cm wide x 63 cm high
  • 1 m wide x 1.05 m high
  • 1.2 m wide x 1.26 m high
  • 1.91 m wide x 2 m high

What arrives

The artwork shows two kererū with karaka branches, leaves and orange fruit, in the composition pictured.

Made to order in New Zealand in removable matte vinyl, printed with water-based inks.

Application tape holds the detail together while you transfer the artwork to the wall. It is removed after application.

Check your surface first

Best on a smooth, sound painted wall. Let new paint cure fully before installation. Removable does not mean reusable, and removal results depend on the paint and wall condition. Unsure about your finish? Send us a close-up photo before ordering.

How application-tape installation works
  1. Position the decal and use the side-hinge method shown in the guide, approximately 20 cm from the top.
  2. Remove the backing and smooth the artwork onto the wall as directed in the supplied guide.
  3. Remove the application tape last, leaving the artwork on the wall.

Kererū swallow karaka fruit and disperse its seeds. Their ability to carry large seeds between forest patches makes them important partners in native forest regeneration.

Where to find karaka trees in New Zealand

Map of New Zealand

Karaka is part of coastal forest at Duder Regional Park in Auckland and grows in a historic grove at Waharau Regional Park on the Firth of Thames. Its fruit feeds kererū, while its long history of Māori cultivation has helped shape where these trees grow today.
