YDS Studio / Commercial glass graphics
Custom window decals, privacy graphics and frosted effects for commercial interiors across New Zealand. We take your glass graphics from concept and design through in-house production and professional installation.
Visibility / Privacy / Identity
Window manifestation is a visible marking applied to glass to help people recognise a glazed surface. It can also contribute to privacy, branding and wayfinding. We consider how the glass looks from both sides, how people use the space and where light and clear views should remain.
Mark glazed doors, full-height panels and office partitions so people can recognise the glass. Placement, contrast and coverage are developed around the project’s requirements.
Manage sightlines into meeting rooms, offices and healthcare spaces with frosted window graphics or selected printed coverage. The level of screening depends on the film and design.
Use room names, identity elements, logos or directional graphics across doors and partitions. Connect the glazing to the rest of your interior.
Bring illustration, a custom pattern or a landscape into the architecture. A glass treatment can become a thoughtful part of the space while serving a practical role.
Design options
Dots and stripes can be the right answer. They are also one starting point. We can develop a manifestation pattern specifically for the proportions, brand or story of your space, and coordinate it with wall graphics and signage.
Frosted effects, bands and custom cut details can screen selected areas while keeping parts of the glass open.
Original illustrations, full-colour printed graphics and transparent colour can build a visual connection with the surrounding interior.
Logos, room identification and repeat patterns can be aligned across multiple panels, doors and meeting rooms.
Who we work with
We work directly with clients and alongside architects, interior designers, builders and fit-out companies. You can bring finished artwork, brand guidelines or a brief that needs a complete design response.
Meeting rooms, office partitions, reception glazing and shared workspaces.
Privacy, glass identification and decorative graphics, coordinated with facilities and clinical teams.
Learning environments, staff spaces and public-facing buildings with clear visual identification.
Branding and custom window graphics, balancing visibility into the premises with the intended message.
Materials & project planning
Film is selected for the glass, location, finish and expected use. We consider compatibility with the glazing and any existing coating, internal or external application, exposure, cleaning and eventual removal.
A diffuse finish for privacy bands, patterns or larger areas of screening. We confirm the level of visibility needed for the actual room.
Full-colour, transparent or opaque graphics, with cut details where suitable. Samples can help assess colour, finish and appearance on glass.
In healthcare and busy workplaces, share your cleaning products and procedures early. We select and document the proposed material system against those requirements.
We coordinate with your architect, glazing contractor or project team on the required design and positioning. A decorative pattern is not automatically a compliant manifestation solution. Applicable Building Code and glazing requirements need to be confirmed for the project.
Selected glass work / Auckland
At Starship Children’s Hospital, transparent fern graphics extend across elevated glazed walkways. The glazing is part of a connected visual environment, alongside forest wall graphics and suspended elements.
This is an example of decorative glazing design within a wider project. Privacy and manifestation requirements for your own space are assessed separately.
From first enquiry to installation
We plan the visual design and the practical work together. Installation can be coordinated with your fit-out programme, building access and the people responsible for the site.
Send photos, panel dimensions, the project location and your priorities. Let us know whether the main need is visibility, privacy, branding, decoration or a combination.
We agree the scope and budget, then develop or adapt artwork for the glazing. We confirm finish, coverage, panel breaks and any project-specific manifestation requirements with your team.
Once the artwork, measurements and proposed materials are approved, we prepare the files and manufacture the graphics in our New Zealand studio.
We confirm access, glass preparation, sequencing and timing, then coordinate professional installation and provide care guidance.
Window graphics / FAQs
Manifestation helps make glass visible. Frosting describes a type of finish that can offer privacy or form part of a manifestation design. They can work together, but the required coverage, placement and contrast depend on the project.
Yes. We can design a bespoke pattern or illustration and work with existing branding. Where the graphics also serve as manifestation, the design needs to be checked against the applicable project requirements.
Yes. Selected bands, panels or custom patterns can screen particular sightlines while leaving other areas clear. We assess the proposed treatment from both sides and under the lighting conditions relevant to the space.
Yes. We can work from plans and elevations, adapt a brand system or prepare supplied artwork for production. We check file quality, dimensions and any necessary artwork adjustments before manufacture.
We can coordinate professional installation through our nationwide installation partners. Your location, glass access, site programme and working hours help us plan and quote the work.
Photos, the number and dimensions of the glass panels, the address, intended use, preferred finish and desired timing are a useful start. An approximate budget helps us recommend an appropriate design and coverage.
Many applied graphics can be removed, but the method, time and condition of the glass or existing coatings vary. Tell us if the treatment is temporary, leased-premises work or intended to be updated so we can select and quote accordingly.
Work with YDS Studio
Tell us about the space, the people using it and what the glass needs to do. Photos and a rough panel schedule are a useful starting point. We will help shape the design, finish and next step.
