Huia Feather Wall Decal
Our Huia feather decal is a soft blend of watercolours with a strong sense of meaning and history. Standing tall and proud, the Huia tail feather symbolises leadership and mana. Worn in the hair by both men and women to represent wisdom and great dignity, it acted as a royal diadem. Huia tail feathers were given as gifts and traded amongst Tangata Whenua.
The feather of this extinct Aotearoa/New Zealand bird is a bold reminder to respect and protect the taonga that is our native biodiversity. Our Huia feather decal is created to display the beauty of this magnificent creature lost to us over the times and tides of history.
The elegance and sophistication of this black and white feather will be a sure conversation starter in your home or office.
Originally painted with watercolour paints, then scanned and drawn with an additional layer digitally to create a unique artwork. Designed and made inhouse exclusively by Your Decal Shop.
This wall decal is printed with water-based inks onto our peel & stick woven fabric which is removable, repositionable and reusable.
